Continuing Education hosts OSHA training for Summit Mechanical

On Friday, May 22nd, Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education hosted a six-hour OSHA training for 10 employees from Summit Mechanical of Paris, Texas.

The training focused on workplace safety awareness and OSHA standards, helping participants strengthen their knowledge of safe work practices and jobsite compliance. NTCC appreciates Summit Mechanical’s commitment to employee safety and ongoing workforce development.

Experience and Other Qualifications Required:

Masters Degree in Agriculture or equivalent that includes 18 graduate hours in Agriculture required.

At least three years secondary teaching experience preferred.

NTCC receives $275,416 JET grant from Texas Workforce Commission

Northeast Texas Community College recently received a $275,416 Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grant from the Texas Workforce Commission to support the college’s nursing program and help train the next generation of registered nurses in Northeast Texas.

CIS hosts more than 300 high school students for annual CAPPED event

Communities in Schools (CIS) of Northeast Texas recently hosted its annual CAPPED 2026 event on the Northeast Texas Community College campus, welcoming hundreds of high school students from across the region for a day focused on college and career exploration.

More than 440 students from area high schools registered for the event, with approximately 340 students attending. Participating schools included Chapel Hill, Clarksville, Cooper ISD, Daingerfield, Harts Bluff, Mount Pleasant, Mount Vernon, Paul Pewitt, Pittsburg, Rivercrest, and Sulphur Springs.

Adult Education celebrates GED graduates

The Northeast Texas Community College Adult Education Department recently held a graduation ceremony to celebrate 32 students who completed the requirements for the GED (General Equivalency Diploma). Ten students were inducted into the National Adult Education Honor Society and the winner of the J. Travis Jackson Memorial Scholarship was also announced. Rebekka Patt (pictured speaking), a recent GED alumni, gave the keynote address.
