As part of our efforts to make NTCC a safer place, we will conduct a campus-wide tornado drill on Tuesday, Nov. 15th at 8:15 a.m. At that time, the campus audible warning system will announce the drill. When the alarm sounds, everyone who is on campus should go to the nearest designated Severe Weather Shelter Area (look for signs on top of doors as pictured above) and wait until an all-clear notification is broadcast.
Registration is officially underway for the Spring 2023 semester. Spring classes begin on January 17th. Students are encouraged to sign up early so they can get the classes they need in their desired format and time.
Students can also register for the December Intersession, which begins December 8th. Intersession classes are all online and last about a month (ending January 6th). They are a great way to pick up an extra class over the holiday break and get one step closer to graduation!
The NTCC Ag Club will host the first ever Conroy Tractor “Tractor Tech Invitational” Contest on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at the NTCC Ag complex and farm. The event will give area FFA and 4-H students a chance to test their tractor knowledge and skills. Participants will take a written test, diagnose a break down on a tractor and drive a tractor. Judges will evaluate and score the students on their knowledge and competency.
FFA and 4-H leaders interested in the event can sign up via Judging Card or contact Jacee Neal at 903-588-6063 for more information.
Quilts by local quilters will hang in the Whatley Center foyer in what is now an annual tradition for the NTCC art department. For the sixth year, quilters will bring their treasured art to share with the community. The exhibit will run from Friday, Nov. 11th through Wednesday, Nov. 20th. A reception is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 16th at 12:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center foyer, and refreshments will be served.
It is critical that the campus community is quickly informed in the event of an emergency at NTCC. It is important that everyone is made aware of what to do and how to make sure they receive emergency alerts. We will be conducting a test of our alert system at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9th.
Northeast Texas Community College held its 34th annual Scare Affair Halloween event on Monday, Oct. 31st. More than $7,500 was raised by 14 student clubs.
The CARE Center and Student Success will host a week-long national celebration for First Generation Students November 7th-10th. A First-Generation student is an individual whose parents did not complete a 4-year college degree. Many NTCC students are the first in their family to attend college and this is a special week to support and celebrate them!
