Police Department swears in Chris Weisinger as newest officer

The Northeast Texas Community College Police Department welcomed its newest officer during a swearing-in ceremony held on campus today.

Chief Russell Radke administered the oath of office to Officer Chris Weisinger, who joined the department in February. Following the oath, Dr. Kevin Rose, NTCC President, presented Weisinger with his Certificate of Appointment, and Sergeant Daniel Madden pinned on his badge.

Anonymous donor provides new livestock trailer for NTCC Agriculture

The Northeast Texas Community College Agriculture Department recently received a new livestock trailer for use on the college’s demonstration farm and ranch. The trailer was made possible through a generous anonymous donation to the NTCC Foundation and will be used to support the college’s agriculture programs and provide students with hands-on learning opportunities.

March is National Athletic Training Month

Northeast Texas Community College would like to recognize all the Area Athletic Trainers who go above and beyond to take care of the athletes they serve. March is designated at National Athletic Training Month and this year the slogan is “Care You Can Count On”. From middle school to high school, to college, and Professional sports, and now many other non-traditional settings Athletic Trainers are here to care for athletes of all ages.

Free Critical Retirement Essentials seminars planned

Northeast Texas Community College’s Continuing Education department will soon host a free six-week seminar series designed to help community members better prepare for retirement.

The series, Critical Retirement Essentials, will be led by Kevin Welborn of Monticello Financial Group and will cover a variety of important financial topics, including retirement strategies, 401(k) rollovers, estate planning and 1035 exchanges.

José Fuentes wins prestigious Guistwhite Scholarship

José Fuentes, a student at Northeast Texas Community College, a Phi Theta Kappa member, has been selected as a 2026 Guistwhite Scholar and will receive a $5,000 scholarship for baccalaureate studies. 

Winners were chosen from among 3,000 applicants nationwide, and their selection was based on academic excellence, leadership accomplishments, and engagement in Phi Theta Kappa programs. They will also receive a commemorative medallion.
