The Northeast Texas Community College Eagle Rodeo team had three members qualify in the Team Roping event for the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming and competed June 15 to June 21, 2025.

NTCC was represented by Teyton Barton (Heeler) who was partnered with East Texas A&M University’s Garrett Freeman (Header), and the Eagle duo of Kelon Andrews (Header) and Hayden Sanders (Heeler) made up the Eagle qualifiers.

In round 2 of the finals, Barton and his partner finished in 7th place with a strong run in the round. Andrews and Sanders did not have the same luck, but are returning to the Eagles in 2025-2026 and look to take the experience and make a run again next year.

Coach Justin Hampton said, “We are excited to have all three returning next year and bringing their experience to the team as leaders who can share their knowledge with the rest of the Eagles Rodeo team.”

While this was not the results the Eagle Rodeo athletes wanted, they created lifelong memories on their road to Casper this season.

The NTCC Rodeo team will host a National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Southern Region Rodeo, October 10-11, 2025 at the Mount Pleasant Rodeo Association Arena. Anyone who would like to be a part of the Eagle Rodeo program as an athlete or sponsor please reach out to Coach Justin Hampton at jhampton@ntcc.edu.
