The public colleges and universities in Texas, through the leadership of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, provide for transferability of “general academic courses which, when offered at Northeast Texas Community during the first two years of collegiate study, shall be freely transferable among all public institutions of higher education in Texas who are members of recognized accrediting agencies on the same basis as if the work had been done at the receiving institution.
NTCC also has direct pathway agreements and co-enrollment agreements with both the Texas A&M and University of Texas systems.
Transfer from Northeast to Another Institution
Transfer of credit from Northeast Texas Community College to other institutions is typically completed without difficulty with courses numbered 1000 and above generally accepted for transfer by other institutions. However, it is the responsibility of the student, to determine prior to registration if the courses will transfer.

Texas A&M University-Texarkana
As a result of the academic partnership between Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) and Texas A&M University-Texarkana (A&M-Texarkana), guided pathways have been developed between NTCC and A&M-Texarkana through which students can earn their associate’s degree with NTCC and then transfer to A&M-Texarkana to complete their baccalaureate degree. Students earning bachelor’s degrees on the NTCC campus in Mount Pleasant will be taught by outstanding faculty using best teaching strategies. Course delivery will be face to face, web-enhanced or online.
All course work for NTCC’s associate’s degree plans can be completed on the NTCC campus in Mount Pleasant, Texas. Students are only required to travel for the A&M-Texarkana courses not offered through distance education formats.
