Northeast Texas Community College held its 34th annual Scare Affair Halloween event on Monday, Oct. 31st. The event was originally scheduled for the previous Saturday, but was moved due to weather concerns. Scare Affair is the college's top fundraising event of the year for student organizations. More than $7,500 was raised by 14 student clubs.

"The weather was very unpredictable over the weekend and we took a gamble and decided to move Scare Affair to Halloween night. We were so pleased with the turnout and appreciate all of the students and staff who worked hard to make the event a success," Kaymon Farmer, Director of Student Development and Inclusion, said.

An estimated 3,100 people attended Scare Affair and more than 1500 pounds of candy were distributed. Cash prizes were awarded for the top costumes of the evening. Winners in the kids category were Angelina Pecina (1st) & Cooper Tallant (2nd). Victor Arreola won first in the adult contest & the Cardoza Family came in 2nd. Many thanks to everyone who participated!
