Northeast Texas Community College welcomes Artist Marsha Brown as the exhibiting artist for February.  Her artwork will be on display in the Whatley Center foyer from Friday, February 3rd  through Wednesday, February 22nd.  A reception will be held on Wednesday, February 8th, at 12:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Marsha was born in Lindale, Texas, and has lived in Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

It has been said that “creative people try to do the unexpected.” During the past fall semester, three Honors Scholars in the NTCC honors program, Honors Northeast, emerged as fall showcases of achievement at NTCC, Alyssa Ochoa, Neida Perez, and Madellynn Smith.  All three exhibited a level of academic excellence equivalent to the top-tier of the NTCC honors program.

The NTCC Music Department recently launched a new YouTube series called "Corner Conversations". The project was developed by Dr. Andrew Daniel, Associate Professor of Music.

The NTCC Bookstore is extending its hours to better serve students as they prepare for the spring semester! They will be open Friday, Jan. 13th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and they will also extend hours the following Friday, Jan. 20th until 2 p.m.

Prepare to be entertained at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts this February! Three don’t-miss concerts are scheduled along with an art exhibit. The month will kick off with a performance by the Texas Tenors on Friday, Feb. 3rd at 7:30 p.m.

Northeast Texas Community College will be closed on Monday, Jan. 16th in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Offices will reopen and the spring 2023 semester will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 17th. Students can view account information by logging into in the myEagle portal and many common last-minute questions can be answered by clicking the "Chat Now" icon on most pages of the NTCC website

The Work4College Program is a great way for you to attend NTCC without acquiring debt and provide a hands-on learning experience through a department on campus. The application is available to fill out and submit online at www.Work4College.com. The deadline to apply is April 14, 2023.

Jessica Velasquez, a 2016 NTCC graduate, and winner of two Jack Kent Cooke Scholarships, has just won an award in research from the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).  Velasquez’s study was based on work she performed last summer at the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Training Program, an end-of-life care unit for cancer patients living in Puerto Rico.
