It's time to mark your calendars for the 2023 Northeast Texas Community College Kids Discovery College! Classes will be held July 10th-20th (Monday-Thursday) on the NTCC campus and at the Culinary Arts school in downtown Pittsburg. As always, we will have a great schedule of fun, educational classes for kids to choose from. Look for the full schedule and registration dates in April.

With the weekend series with Cowley College canceled due to weather, Northeast Texas Community College picked up a home contest with Eastern Oklahoma State College on Monday, February 13th. The Eagles would take game one in dramatic fashion 5-4, Mountaineers would come away with the win in game two, 11-4.

Colton Dixon

There’s been a rumor going around that Colton Dixon is coming to the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts this May…and it’s true! Dixon will bring his Build A Boat tour featuring Apollo LTD and Alexander Pappas to NTCC on Friday, May 5 at 7 p.m. This event is organized by Rock The Pines and tickets can be purchased by clicking here. The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a gift for $32,714 from Pure Hope Foundation (PHF) in Mount Vernon. Pictured at the check presentation (from left) is: Holly Morris, PHF Events Director, Ryan Morris, PHF COO/Executive Director, Dr. Kevin Rose, NTCC Senior Vice President for Student Success, Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Executive Vice President for Advancement, Michael Lee, PHF Co-Founder and Kathrine Lee, PHF Co-Founder/CEO. The donation established the Pure Hope Foundation General Scholarship, which will provide assistance for PHF students well into the future.

Makenzie Mayes

The Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo team made the short trip to Sulphur Springs, Texas for the first National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Southern Region Rodeo hosted by Texas A&M University-Commerce February 3-4. The Eagles had a great representation in the finals Saturday night, with the Women’s Team placing third and Makenzie Mayes (Scroggins, TX) coming away with the Women’s All-Around Champion Award.

A graduate from the Northeast Texas Community College Funeral Services program was once again featured in January 2023 edition of Texas Director, the Official Publication of the Texas Funeral Directors Association.
