The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Board of Trustees held its regular November meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 25th. All action items on the agenda were approved.

President’s Report

President Dr. Kevin Rose opened by expressing appreciation for the welcome reception held for him last week and noted how meaningful the community’s support has been during NTCC’s 40th anniversary year.

Registration is officially underway for the Spring 2026 sem

Northeast Texas Community College recently welcomed Will Parent, President and Acting Executive Director of the Texas Community College Teachers Association (TCCTA) and Professor of Government at San Jacinto College–North Campus. This marks only the third visit by a TCCTA Executive Director in NTCC’s 40-year history.

Northeast Texas Community College recently partnered with Pittsburg High School to participate in its College and Career Fair, giving students the opportunity to explore a wide range of academic pathways and future careers. Representatives from NTCC’s Agriculture, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, NTCC Student Services, Math, Science, Health Sciences, Funeral Services, and other programs were on hand to visit with students and answer questions. Melody Mott, NTCC College Liaison, helped coordinate the event. 

Northeast Texas Community College will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 26th through Friday, Nov.

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College will welcome acclaimed vocalist, pianist and Broadway star Michael Cavanaugh for Merry Rockin' Christmas on Friday, Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for students. The show is sponsored by Cypress Bank.

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a check for $12,311 from Jerry Hearron on behalf of the Mount Pleasant Community Fund. Northeast Texas Community College hosted a welcome brunch reception on Wednesday, Nov. 19, to honor Dr. Kevin Rose, NTCC’s sixth president. The event was held in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts foyer and served as an opportunity for the campus community to officially celebrate Rose’s new leadership role.
