Theatre Northeast to present children's play
Theatre Northeast is set to present the ?Hilarious Fractured Fairy Tale,"†Once Upon A Wolf†by Steph DeFerie at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College. The show will be performed Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. and there will be a 2:05 p.m. matinee on Dec. 7. This marks the 24th year that Theatre Northeast has presented an annual Christmas season children?s play.
Winner announced in early voting drawing
Ricky Ortiz (right)†recently won an HP laptop in a drawing sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa. The contest†was open to all students who voted early in the Nov. 4 election. Ortiz was presented the laptop on Nov. 4 at the NTCC Election Watch Party, held in the Whatley Center foyer. He is pictured with Dr. Melissa Weinbrenner, Phi Theta Kappa Advisor, and member Christopher Hamilton.†The drawing was one of several†projects PTK hosted this semester to encourage students to vote.†
NTCC Webb Society releases film trailer
Thanks to the internationally acclaimed,†Love is a Wild Assault,†by Elithe Kirkland, the tale of Harriet Potter Ames is perhaps the best-known legend of Northeast Texas.† Now for the first time on film, NTCC?s Webb Society and Honors Northeast are presenting a feature-length cinematic version of the story that will premiere in early 2015.† Until then, the film?s trailer is available for free on youtube:

Asleep at the Wheel to perform holiday show at the Whatley
Legendary western-swing, boogie and roots-music band Asleep at the Wheel will perform at the Northeast Texas Community College campus in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on Monday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
Voters approve NTCC Prop 2, decline Prop 1
Northeast Texas Community College confirmed Wednesday that Proposition One failed by 327 votes. However, final tallies from county election officials showed that Proposition Two passed by four votes.
Proposition One dealt with restructuring NTCC's tax cap and would grant the college the ability to pay back debt. Proposition Two authorized the college to issue $19.9 million in bonds to repair the 30-year-old NTCC campus.
?This leaves the college with the authority to issue bonds, but no way to pay them back,? Dr. Brad Johnson, NTCC President, said.

Registration open for Intersession, Spring
Registration for the spring 2015 semester is currently underway at Northeast Texas Community College. Students may also register for the holiday intersession term.
Underground leak causes heating outage at NTCC
Northeast Texas Community College maintenance staff are working to restore heating to the campus †ahead of the Arctic blast that will bring freezing temperatures to the area this week. All campus heat was shut down Monday while temporary repairs were made on a chiller loop leak in the Learning Resource Center.
"Leaks like this†are becoming more frequent. The pipes beneath the campus are deteriorating and breaking at an alarming rate," Dr. Brad Johnson, NTCC President, said.
