Board of Trustees holds regular December meeting

The Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees met for its regular December meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 13th. 

The first item on the agenda was the presentation of the annual independent audit by the firm of Axley and Rode. Molly Abele gave the report, which included an unmodified opinion for both the college and the NTCC Foundation. She stated that the audit did not uncover any deficiencies or issues of concern. The college increased its net position by $387,319 from the previous fiscal year.

NTCC celebrates December 2022 graduates

Northeast Texas Community College celebrated December 2022 commencement on Friday, Dec. 9th at 7 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. A total of 100 graduates were awarded 60 certificates of competency, 11 Associate of Arts, six Associate of Arts in Teaching, 42 Associate of Science, and 17 Associate of Applied Science. Jalisha Broadnax gave the student welcome and Jaime Olvera delivered the student response.

Congratulations, graduates! We are very proud of your accomplishments.

NTCC celebrates service milestones

NTCC held its annual Employee Christmas Party and Service Awards/Retirement Luncheon on Friday, Dec. 8th. In addition to wishing Elayne Peters, Director of the Testing Center, well in her retirement, the college also honored those who reached service milestones.

TAFE chapter co-founders surprised with shopping spree

Northeast Texas Community College students and co-founders of the TAFE Chapter, Monserrat Rivero and Ruby Ferretiz, were surprised by Professor Jim Ward with a shopping spree to collect supplies for their TAFE community service project. The students were given 30 minutes to shop for $250 worth of donations for the Rainbow Room at the local Department of Family and Protective Service Office to support their project they had presented to faculty at the most recent faculty meeting.

NTCC receives $12,000 from US Tennis Association

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $12,000 donation from the United States Tennis Association. Dr. Ron Clinton (left), NTCC President, Jimmy Smith, Coordinator of Continuing Education and Corporate Training, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, Executive Vice President for Advancement, are pictured receiving the check. The gift will be used to upgrade NTCC’s tennis courts and provide scholarships for local youth to participate in the 2023 Kids Discovery College.
