Softball sweeps series with Navarro College

Weather once again played with the schedule for Northeast Texas Community College Athletics. NTCC Softball moved the two-game series with Navarro College to Tuesday, April 25th to get ahead of the rains. The Eagles took game one 8-5 and game two 5-3 to earn the sweep against the Bulldogs.

Foundation raises $244,730 on East Texas Giving Day

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation finished East Texas Giving Day at the top of the leaderboard for the second year in a row this Tuesday. NTCC raised a whopping $244,730 via the annual fundraising event that has become a regional tradition.

In addition to raising the most money, NTCC also finished with the highest number of donations at 208. Nita May, NTCC Director of Development and event organizer, said that these numbers reflect the enthusiasm and effort put forth by NTCC employees, students and community members.

Pickleball tourney rescheduled for April 30th

EVENT RESCHEDULED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER:

The NTCC Baptist Student Ministry will host a FREE pickleball tournament on Sunday, April 30th at 2 p.m. at the NTCC tennis courts. All students, faculty, staff and their immediate family members are welcome to participate. Come for food, fun and a chance to compete for $500 in cash prizes!

Theatre production of "The 39 Steps" continues through Saturday

If you hate to laugh and don't like fun...definitely DON'T go see The 39 Steps, Abridged at the Whatley Center this weekend. On the other hand, if you want to have a great time enjoying high-energy, interactive theatre - you should  definitely check it out! The production will continue with shows at 7:30 p.m. this Friday and Saturday and a final matinee Saturday at 2:30.

Wilhite gives keynote at IMACC conference

Recently, Dr. Paula Wilhite was the invited Friday evening keynote speaker for the 2023 Illinois Mathematical Association of Community Colleges Conference.  In her presentation, “The Beauty of Mathematics in Gershwin’s Classical Jazz”, she analyzed the patterns of mathematics in George Gershwin’s jazz where he applied techniques of musical composition based on mathematical algorithms.
