Floral Design class planned

Want a great gift for Mother's Day? Consider giving your favorite Moms (or yourself) a spot in the upcoming Floral Design class presented by NTCC Agriculture and Continuing Education! The class will teach the art of floral design and will cover door wreaths, table pieces and outdoor arranging. Participants will take home their own hand-crafted floral project that is ready for display in their home or outdoor living space.

Flashback oldies concert coming to Whatley Center April 10

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College is pleased to host Flashback, Louisiana’s premier oldies show band, on Saturday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m.

Their show, “At The Hop”, is a 1950's-60's" rock ‘n roll show that will bring back some wonderful memories of the songs that were popular when life in our country was so much simpler! 

Avellaneda, Quinones win Britt Poster Awards

For the sixth and seventh time in NTCC history, scholars of Honors Northeast have won Britt Poster Awards of the Great Plains Honors Council (GPHC). Aaliyah Avellaneda a first-year student, won in the social science division for first- and second-year students, while Quinones won in the STEM division (Science-Technology-Engineering-and-Medicine) for the same freshman-sophomore category.

Professional Driving Academy graduates six, becomes CDL testing site

The Northeast Texas Community College Professional Driving Academy continues to grow and supply high-demand CDL drivers to the local area. Six new students graduated from the program over spring break, making a total of 21 graduates since the program started last September.

Spring Pruning and Replanting Workshop scheduled

The Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education and Agriculture Departments have teamed up to offer another great class for the community. A Spring Pruning and Replanting Workshop will be held on Thursday, April 1 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the NTCC Ag Complex (across FM 1735 from the main campus).

Worried about your tender plants, after the "big freeze?" Join us for this one-class session where participants will learn how to prune, replant, and care for their vegetation; particularly roses, fruit trees, crepe myrtles, and much more.

Mad City financial literacy event planned for March 30

Stressed about the future of your personal finances? You won’t want to miss the Mad City Reality Fair Simulation event scheduled for March 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Student Union Building. NTCC Student Services and Financial Literacy will host this (free) exciting, interactive exercise to help students learn more about managing their personal finances. Free pizza will be served and gift card prizes will be given away!

Computers for Senior Adults class scheduled

The NTCC Continuing Education department will host a Computers for Senior Adults class April 6-27. It will be held Tuesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. on the NTCC main campus.

The class will cover software, formatting, saving documents, file storage, e-mail and more. Karen Andrews is the instructor. The cost is $59 and the course is recommended for adults age 55+. To register, please call 903-434-8134 or e-mail continuinged@ntcc.edu. Pre-registration is required.
