Baseball takes on Howard College

Northeast Texas Community College hosted the Howard College Hawks February 18-19 in a three-game series. Howard College won games one and two, 6-5 and 8-0, but NTCC bounced back in game three to win 8-4. NTCC Head Coach Andy Morgan and Howard College Head Coach Jake Carlson were high school teammates back in Kansas growing up and set up a good match between the schools.

PTA program earns 10-year reaccreditation

The Northeast Texas Community College Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program recently announced that it has been awarded the maximum 10-year reaccreditation with the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). Continued accreditation means that the program meets or exceeds all requirements and that students who graduate from the program are eligible to sit for the National Physical Therapy Examination and practice as licensed PTAs.

Dates announced for Kids Discovery College

It's time to mark your calendars for the 2023 Northeast Texas Community College Kids Discovery College! Classes will be held July 10th-20th (Monday-Thursday) on the NTCC campus and at the Culinary Arts school in downtown Pittsburg. As always, we will have a great schedule of fun, educational classes for kids to choose from. Look for the full schedule and registration dates in April.

Colton Dixon to perform at Whatley Center

There’s been a rumor going around that Colton Dixon is coming to the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts this May…and it’s true! Dixon will bring his Build A Boat tour featuring Apollo LTD and Alexander Pappas to NTCC on Friday, May 5 at 7 p.m. This event is organized by Rock The Pines and tickets can be purchased by clicking here. Pure Hope Foundation establishes NTCC scholarship

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a gift for $32,714 from Pure Hope Foundation (PHF) in Mount Vernon. Pictured at the check presentation (from left) is: Holly Morris, PHF Events Director, Ryan Morris, PHF COO/Executive Director, Dr. Kevin Rose, NTCC Senior Vice President for Student Success, Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Executive Vice President for Advancement, Michael Lee, PHF Co-Founder and Kathrine Lee, PHF Co-Founder/CEO. The donation established the Pure Hope Foundation General Scholarship, which will provide assistance for PHF students well into the future.

31st issue of NTCC Honors’ Alacrity newsletter available

NTCC team shines at first spring rodeo

The Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo team made the short trip to Sulphur Springs, Texas for the first National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Southern Region Rodeo hosted by Texas A&M University-Commerce February 3-4. The Eagles had a great representation in the finals Saturday night, with the Women’s Team placing third and Makenzie Mayes (Scroggins, TX) coming away with the Women’s All-Around Champion Award.

Funeral Services grad featured in trade publication
