The Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo team made the short trip to Sulphur Springs, Texas for the first National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Southern Region Rodeo hosted by Texas A&M University-Commerce February 3-4. The Eagles had a great representation in the finals Saturday night, with the Women’s Team placing third and Makenzie Mayes (Scroggins, TX) coming away with the Women’s All-Around Champion Award.

A graduate from the Northeast Texas Community College Funeral Services program was once again featured in January 2023 edition of Texas Director, the Official Publication of the Texas Funeral Directors Association. The Northeast Texas Community College Softball team finally got to take the field Sunday, but had to do so on the road due to wet field conditions at NTCC. Northeast Texas Community College Baseball headed East to take on the Centenary College Gents on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 and came away with a 17-7 victory to move to 3-0 on the young season. After outstanding performances in the fall semester, Garrett Phillips (left), and Luke McCraw have entered the ranks of Honors Northeast, NTCC’s Honors Program. In addition to their GPA success both Phillips and McCraw, have attained significant academic honors as well. The Northeast Texas Community College Baseball team finally got on the field after a few weather-related cancellations on Sunday afternoon, traveling to Mena, Arkansas to take on Arkansas Rich Mountain Community College. The Eagles picked up two big wins to open the season taking down Rich Mountain 8-4 in game one and 12-2 in game two. After falling behind 1-0 after two innings, the Eagles offense got going in the third inning scoring three runs in the third and three runs in the fourth to jump ahead 6-1...

The Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees held its regular January meeting later than usual on Tuesday, Feb. 7th. The meeting was delayed due to scheduling conflicts. All seven board members were present. Dr. Ron Clinton, NTCC President, announced that spring enrollment is tracking flat after the census date. Numbers are very similar to last spring, with about a .5% decrease in head count and 2.1% increase in contact hours. 

The Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo team will travel to Sulphur Springs, Texas on February 3-4 for the Texas A&M University-Commerce Rodeo at the Hopkins County Civic Center.
