Men's soccer move up in rankings

After an impressive 2-1 win over #1 Tyler Junior College last Friday the men's soccer team has moved up in this week's NJCAA Division 1 Soccer Rankings. Previously ranked at #15 the Eagles are now sitting at #5 in this week's rankings. The Eagles are also ranked #3 in the United Soccer Coaches Junior College rankings this week (previously #8). The men's team is currently second in Region 14 standings only behind #6 Tyler Junior College. The Eagles have three more games until entering the Region 14 tournament and starting their playoff journey.

Iris Society presents scholarship to NTCC Ag student

The Piney Woods Iris Society of Mount Pleasant met at their regular meeting Monday, Oct. 15 to present Northeast Texas Community College student Jan Shirley with a $500 scholarship. Shirley was nominated by René McCracken, NTCC Director of Agriculture. She was highly recommended for the scholarship and she hopes to finish her degree in horticulture. The Iris Society presents scholarship funds each year to help someone interested in the horticulture field. The Piney Woods Iris Society is a member of Region 17 of the Iris Society.

Honors presents panel at East Texas Historical Association

Save the date for the next Culinary Arts Dinner!

The Northeast Texas Community College Culinary Arts Program will host a special Thursday Night Dinner on Nov. 15th.  The dinner will be held at the NTCC Culinary School in historic downtown Pittsburg and is open to the public. Tickets go on sale Thursday, Oct. 29th. Due to high demand at previous events, the Culinary Arts Program has moved to a ticketed event rather than first-come-first-served. Tickets can be obtained only at the NTCC Hanson-Sewell Center at 237 College Street in Pittsburg, cash and checks are accepted for payment.
