Thirteen complete pickleball class

The NTCC Continuing Education Department wrapped up its third pickleball class June 29th. Thirteen students completed the course. 

"We have seen a huge increase in interest in these classes since we first started offering them this spring. I think people are realizing how much fun the sport is on top of being great exercise," Jimmy Smith, Director of Continuing Education and Corporate Training, said.

The Northeast Texas Community College Professional Driving Academy continues to grow and supply high-demand CDL drivers to the local area. One new student recently graduated from the program. NTCC to host Noble Research Institute for Regenerative Ranching training

Following the initial launch of Essentials of Regenerative Ranching, Noble Research Institute is bringing the program to Northeast Texas Community College’s Elizabeth Hoggatt Whatley Agriculture Complex on August 15-16, 2023, in Mount Pleasant, Texas. This two-day immersive experience will equip ranchers with the knowledge, skills and tools necessary to monitor and enhance the health of their land, livestock, and financial wellbeing.

College closed July 4th

Northeast Texas Community College will be closed on Thursday, July 4th in observance of the Independence Day holiday. The college will be open regular hours the rest of the week, including from 8 a.m. to noon on Friday, July 5th. 

Students may still access online courses, register, make payments and manage other college business at myeagle.ntcc.edu. The second 5-week summer session begins Monday, July 15th and students can still sign up for classes.

Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas offers truck driver training scholarships

NTCC is a proud training partner of Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas, who is currently offering scholarships for eligible individuals to complete truck driver training. NTCC's four-week professional driving academy is participating in the program. New classes start monthly and include 160 hours of training, DOT physical, drug screen, MVR and CDL permit.

EMT, paramedic scholarships available

Do you have a strong desire to help others? Do you enjoy a fast-paced work environment? If so, a career in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) might be a good option for you - and there has never been a better time to get started. The NTCC EMS Program is part of a special initiative offering up to a full scholarship for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic and Paramedic students who qualify for entry into the program. Current EMTs who would like to transition to the Paramedic program are also eligible for scholarships.

Families, disaster workers find temporary home at NTCC

A combination of widespread power outages, thunderstorm damage and dangerous summer heat left thousands of Northeast Texas residents without access to basic necessities last week. Thankfully, Northeast Texas Community College was able to assist a few of them by providing a safe, cool place to stay.

Thirteen families and representatives from the Texas A&M Forest Service disaster response team found a temporary home in NTCC’s dormitories over the weekend and into this week.
