The Northeast Texas Community College Medical Assistant and Medical Coding programs will host an informational session†Tuesday,†May 5. Anyone interested in pursuing a career as a medical assistant or medical coder are invited to attend. Miranda Mendoza, a Northeast Texas Community College sophomore Honors Scholar and Vice President of the college?s PTK chapter, has won the two-year $48,000 Francis Monaghan Excellence Scholarship to attend the University of St. Thomas in Houston.
Mendoza also has received lucrative offers from the University of Arkansas, and St. Edward?s University in Austin.† She is choosing St.
Shirley Clay†presents Bob Fenton†with a gift basket†for being named NTCC?s Fittest Employee†of the Month†for April.†To receive this award, an employee must†be caught practicing†overt wellness behavior and attitude.†

Northeast Texas Community College student†Kayleah Cumpian of Mount Pleasant was recently awarded the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. This prestigious award covers up to $40,000†annually at the university of the student?s choice for up to three†years. Only†90 students were selected from more than 2,000 applicants for this national honor.
Cumpian is the fifth NTCC student to receive this award since 2010. Previously, Stephen Milburn and Matthew Jordan received the scholarship in 2014, Stephani Calderon in 2013 and Clara Ramirez in 2010.
