Hanson-Sewell Center offers college services in PIttsburg

The semester is winding down and it is time to enroll for summer and fall classes at Northeast Texas Community College.† The NTCC Hanson-Sewell Center, located at 237 College Street in Pittsburg, invites you to stop by for assistance with the college application process, applying for financial aid, testing on the college readiness TSI test, registering for new student orientation, to discuss academic plans, and for help registering for classes.

NTCC Rodeo to host annual Kids Rodeo

The Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo team will host its annual Special Needs and Kids Rodeos Wednesday, April 15. The Special Needs Rodeo begins at 10:30 a.m. and the Kids Rodeo begins at noon. Each spring, elementary schools from around the area bring their kindergarten through second grade students to NTCC to watch an exhibition rodeo performed by the NTCC Rodeo Team. Thousands of school children have attended these events throughout the years.†

NTCC to host annual poster contest

The eighth annual McGraw-Hill Poster Contest is set for Friday, April 24 at 9:30 a.m. in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College. This contest recognizes and rewards creative student scholarship in Northeast Texas. Area high school seniors, college and university students are welcome to compete. The first place prize is $400 with an added McGraw-Hill textbook coupon for $150.

Medical assistant and coding informational sessions planned

The Northeast Texas Community College Medical Assistant and Medical Coding programs will host two informational sessions for prospective students April 9 and April 20. Anyone interested in pursuing a career as a medical assistant or medical coder are invited to attend. Both sessions will be from 6-7 p.m. in room 245 of the University Health Science Building on the main NTCC campus. For more information, call Julie Smith at 903-434-8124.

Tommy Lee Biker Run donates $5,000 for NTCC scholarships

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a gift for $5,000. These funds were raised at the annual Tommy Lee Memorial Biker Run and will be used to provide scholarships to Camp County students attending NTCC. Fast track office skills certificate program begins April 2


Limited seats are still available for Northeast Texas Community College's new fast track office skills certificate program that begins April 2. This 21-hour course is designed to help individuals cultivate the skills necessary to seek entry-level work in an office setting. Topics covered will include Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, business etiquette and more. The course also serves as a bridge into more advanced certificates or an associate of applied science degree in office technology.†
