Whatley Center to host Mount Vernon Music April 10

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College will host a concert by Mount Vernon Music Monday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Whatley foyer.† The string quintet performance will feature Mark Miller and Yuko Mansell on violin, Ute Miller and Sarah Kienle on viola and Zachary Mansell on cello.

Program selections will include Quintet in C major K. 515 by Mozart and Quintet in G major op.

Springfest Week is a great†opportunity for students to confirm and celebrate their decision to attend†Northeast Texas Community College. Art Department hosts annual Mt. Pleasant Art Society show

The Northeast Texas Community College Art Department will host the Mount Pleasant Art Society Annual Membership Show March 25 through April 7 in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The competitive show features artwork from a variety of local artists. A reception will be held Saturday, March 25 from 2:00-3:30 p.m., where the winners will be announced. The gallery is open Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. Please call 903-434-8181 to ensure that the gallery is open before you come to visit.

NTCC Ag to host plant sale April 1

The annual Northeast Texas Community College Spring Plant Sale will be hosted April 1 at the Mount Pleasant Super 1 Foods parking lot from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or until sold out). Various sizes and varieties of tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers will be available, plus numerous other vegetables, herbs, shrubs, vines and trees ready to plant in your garden or patio pots. The farm crew will be available to answer your gardening questions and help get your garden started off right!

NTCC, A&M-Texarkana formalize partnership agreement

Northeast Texas Community College and Texas A&M University ? Texarkana held a ceremony Thursday morning to formalize a Memorandum of Understanding and Articulation Agreement for the Associate of Science in Business Administration to Bachelor of Business Administration. Dr. Brad Johnson, NTCC President, and Dr. Emily Cutrer, President of A&M-Texarkana are pictured during the signing. The agreement allows students who complete their associate degree in business at NTCC to seamlessly transfer into the bachelor?s degree program at A&M-Texarkana.

Northeast Texas field center wins SBDC of the Year Award

The North Texas SBDC proudly announces the†Northeast Texas Small Business Development Center (SBDC)†in Mount Pleasant, as the 2017 SBDC of the Year for the North Texas SBDC Network.

The†SBDC of the Year†honor is awarded to the North Texas SBDC Field Center based on stellar program†performance through†client successes and economic development contributing to job creation/retention and revenue growth on behalf of small business.

Doctors Jim and Paula Archer (center) recently gave $3,000 to sponsor the upcoming performance of Greater Tuna at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Northeast Texas Community College.
