The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles Baseball team is off to a hot start in conference play. The Eagles currently sit near the top of the conference with a 3-1 record.† They swept a three-game series against Bossier Parish Community College this past week.

The Eagles shutout the BPCC in the first game 4-0.

Our friends at A&M-Texarkana are hosting a PLACE lecture on our campus presented by our very own Dr. Kevin Rose on March 20.

The Whatley Center at Northeast Texas Community College will host a concert by country music icon Lee Greenwood on Friday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. All tickets are $35 and are available for purchase online at†www.whatleycenter.com. The performance is sponsored by John and Betty Traylor.

The Northeast Texas Community College Culinary Arts Program will host a special Thursday Night Dinner on March 29th, the theme will be Hello Spring.

The menu will include yeast rolls, roasted tomato-basil soup, chicken Cordon Bleu with supreme sauce, green bean bundles, and wild rice pilaf. Dessert will be Italian cream cake with cream cheese icing.

The dinner will be held at the NTCC Culinary School in historic downtown Pittsburg and is open to the public. Tickets go on sale Thursday, March 19th.

Springfest Week is a great†opportunity for students to confirm and celebrate their decision to attend†Northeast Texas Community College. The week also provides opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to enjoy conversations that will lead to relationship building outside of the classroom.

The Pittsburg Lions Club recently gave $10,000 to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation to endow a scholarship for non-traditional students from Camp County. Madison Lee Blood was recently named the winner of the 2018 Chitsey Award, granted each year to the student of Honors Northeast who most exceeded expectations.† Blood received a $200 check and certificate.† The former Big Sandy Valedictorian impressed all of her professors in her first semester at NTCC as fastidious, hard-working, and astute.† Her work on the emancipation of horses from war-pawns and draft slaves, to ?Black Beauty?

Northeast Texas Community College students will soon have two new degree options as the NTCC Board of Trustees approved associate of applied science degrees in Health Studies and Healthcare Management at its regular meeting Tuesday evening.

These new degree tracks combine a variety of courses already offered at NTCC.

The NTCC Psi Beta chapter is planning a suicide prevention conference and Color Walk, Run or Crawl to Fight Suicide†5K. The event will be Saturday, April 21. Please see the flyer below for details.
