Thirtieth semester trip for Honors students

A tradition initiated in 2008, continued for students of Honors Northeast as they visited a major city, in this case, Fort Worth, Friday, 16 September.
The Northeast Texas Community College Art Department will host an exhibit featuring decorative painters from the Quitman chapter of the Society of Decorative Painters on October 7th through 26th in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts foyer. The exhibit will feature beautifully hand-painted pieces in a variety of media from various artists. A reception will be held Wednesday, October 12th from 12:30 – 1:20 p.m. in the Whatley Center Foyer. The gallery is open Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Northeast Texas Community College’s Dr. Page Petrucka was recently honored by the Texas Educational Theatre Association (TxETA) for her original 10-minute play called Number 42. She received the award at the group’s annual Playfest event in Galveston this September.
Northeast Texas Community College will host a college fair on Thursday, Oct. 20. The event will be held in the Student Union Building from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Representatives from more than 20 universities will be in attendance to provide information to students planning to transfer.
The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a donation of $2,449 from Diamond C Trailers. The funds provided scholarships for 28 Titus County students in grades 4-6 to participate in NTCC’s 2022 Kids Discovery College. Diamond C partnered with the NTCC Continuing Education Department and Communities In Schools (CIS) to ensure that money was not an obstacle for students who wanted to experience the two-week educational summer program. The scholarship provided two courses per student with no cost to the family.

The Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo team kicked off the 2022-2023 Season with the first Fall Rodeo hosted by Panola College.

The National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Southern Region will have the third rodeo of the 2022-2023 season in Mount Pleasant, Texas October 21st and 22nd. Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) will be the host of the Rodeo held at the Mount Pleasant Rodeo Association Priefert Arena located on Greenhill Road in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
