It features several honors students in key roles, the cinematic artistry of Camp-County-born Allen Herald, and his associate, Hannah Goldblum, and a startling original composition by composer, Kenny Goodson of Hughes Springs.
The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation held its 2023 Scholarship Brunch on Friday, Nov. 3rd in the Student Union Building. The annual event is an opportunity to celebrate both scholarship donors and student recipients.
Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC), in partnership with Texas A&M University-Commerce, recently sponsored an educational and cultural trip to New York and Boston for five exceptional students from their Social Work/Sociology program. This journey provided an opportunity for practical learning and a chance to contribute to critical social causes.

From November 7th through November 9th, Phi Theta Kappa partnered with Social Work to celebrate First-Generation students, faculty, and staff members at NTCC. Each day during the activity period, Alpha Mu Chi President Monserrat Rivero Sanchez facilitated a workshop in SUB 101 that featured critical skills and aspects to benefit first-generation students. Tuesday’s workshop was titled, “Resume Writing, Scholarships, and Interview Tips.”
Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo has concluded the Fall Season for the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Southern Region with a trip to the Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas November 9-11. The Eagle Men’s Team came away with several points and finished in third place as a team.
Amidst a dwindling pool of community-college presenters over the years, four NTCC sophomores qualified this year to present at the annual meeting of the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC). Each featured research on a 10 November session dedicated to student posters in an enclosed section of the Sheraton Hotel by the Chicago Riverwalk.
The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation is pleased to announce that seven NTCC employees have been awarded funds through the 2022 Whatley Employee Enhancement Grant. The Foundation received 13 outstanding applications. A total of $16,470 was awarded through the grant.
The Northeast Texas Community College Theatre Department, in collaboration with Firefly Community Theatre, will present the holiday classic, Yes, Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus – A Radio Play, Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 16-18, at 7:30 pm with a Saturday matinee at 2:30 pm. Performances will be held at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the NTCC campus. Tickets can be purchased at whatleycenter.com/tickets.
