The Bellamy Brothers will perform at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Northeast Texas on Friday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are very limited, so get yours today at www.whatleycenter.com or by calling the box office at 903-434-8181. The Fourteenth Annual McGraw-Hill Poster Contest is set for Friday, May 6th at 9:30 a.m. in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College. This contest recognizes and rewards creative student scholarship in Northeast Texas. Area high school seniors, college and university students are welcome to compete. Prizes range from $100 for fourth place to $400 for first place. Community judges will determine a project’s contribution to scholarship, the persuasiveness of its author, and the quality of the overall presentation. The student posters must reflect new and original research, performed in this past year of 2021-22.

Northeast Texas Community College was well represented at the 63rd Annual Council for the Study of Community Colleges (CSCC) Conference in Tempe, Arizona. Faculty members Jim Ward and Carmen Shurtleff both presented at the conference on different topics. 

Medical Assistants are a vital part of healthcare as they work alongside physicians, mainly in outpatient or ambulatory care facilities, such as medical offices and clinics. Medical assistants are​ cross-trained to perform administrative and clinical duties making them the heart of healthcare. 

NTCC's innovative Work4College program is currently accepting applications for summer 2022. Anyone who will have completed at least their sophomore year of high school this May who plans to attend NTCC is eligible. Current students who plan to continue their studies at NTCC are encouraged to apply.

In this the tenth cinematic premiere of a story from the Texas past in as many years, Honors Northeast, and the NTCC Webb Society will present a film that deals with an intriguing symbol of late-twentieth-century American culture. The feature-length film will begin at 7PM on Friday, 25 March at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The production is free, and the public is invited.  Free coffee, homemade cookies, and drinks will be provided afterward, in the Whatley Foyer.

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a donation from the Jr. Delphian Club to support the Work4College Program. Jeanne Blevins (right) is pictured presenting the gift to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Executive Vice President for Advancement. The Jr. Delphian Club gift, along with any others made to the Work4College program, will be matched dollar-for-dollar by two outside foundations. This means double the impact for gifts of all sizes. Please consider supporting the NTCC Foundation on East Texas Giving Day, which will be held on April 26. Gifts will be accepted starting April 4 at www.easttexasgivingday.org/ntccfoundation.
