NTCC alumni using his degree for good in Mount Pleasant

Chaz Curtis is keeping a promise to his college professors. He's taking what he learned at Northeast Texas Community College and successfully applying it to the business world.

The NTCC alumnus is the office manager at Super 1 Foods and is on track to become a funeral director in Mount Pleasant. Curtis earned an associate's degree in Business Administration in 2012 and went on to earn his bachelor's degree on the same campus through NTCC's partnership with Texas A&M Texarkana.

Fulgham named 2016 PTK Faculty Scholar

Dr. Melissa Fulgham, Northeast Texas Community College Associate Professor of History and Division Chair of Social Sciences, was recently chosen to serve as a 2016 Phi Theta Kappa Faculty Scholar.†Fulgham†was among only 30 Phi Theta†Kappa advisors globally†chosen for this honor. The scholars were selected through a rigorous application process based on knowledge of the 2015/2016 Honors Study Topic,†How The World Works: Global Perspectives, and demonstrated excellence in†teaching or administration.

Theatre Northeast to perform annual children's play

Charlie & Helen Hampton receive Distinguished Benefactor Award

Helen Hampton and her late husband Charlie dedicated their entire professional careers to education, so it only made sense that they would continue to do so in retirement. Since moving back home to Northeast Texas in the mid 1990s, the Hamptons have contributed to scholarships and†cultural events at Northeast Texas Community College. From helping students achieve their dreams of a college education to sponsoring high-quality entertainment at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts, the Hamptons are among the college?s††most prolific donors.

NTCC's first employee retires

Milestones are important in the life of any institution.† This fall a milestone deserving of attention has occurred at Northeast Texas Community College - its first employee retired.

This year NTCC honors the 31-year-service of Judy Jackson, the first employee hired when the college was formed.†Judy's role changed over the†years†as the college grew from an infant organization into the dynamic, far-reaching institution that it is today.

Criminal justice travel course planned

Northeast Texas Community College will offer an exciting new travel study opportunity next summer. The NTCC criminal justice and sociology departments are hosting a trip to south Texas that will provide real-world insight into various areas of the criminal justice system.

The trip is scheduled for May 16-22, 2016. Students will travel in a luxury motor coach for a week jam-packed with activities and destinations.
