Art department hosts pottery and sculpture exhibit

The Northeast Texas Community College Art Department is hosting Diversity in Clay, a pottery and sculpture exhibit by Llwanda Golden through October 26 in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.

"Llwanda is a prolific artist with a high level of sophistication and detail. From her whimsical teapots to lifelike human busts, each piece is unique and special," Debbie Strong, NTCC Instructor of Art, said.

NTCC wins national award for efforts in sustainability

Northeast Texas Community College recently learned that it was one of only nine community colleges nationwide to win†recognition†for its innovative agriculture programs by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC).

As a recipient of the 2016 Green Genome Awards, NTCC was specifically honored for Program Design and Delivery in Sustainable Agriculture. The award comes with a prize of $10,000, which will be used to further sustainable agriculture efforts at NTCC.

Culinary Arts to host public dinner Oct. 27

The Northeast Texas Community College Culinary Arts Program will host a special Thursday Night Dinner on October 27. The dinner will be held at the NTCC Culinary School in historic downtown Pittsburg and is open to the public.†
Tickets go on sale Monday, Oct. 3rd. Due to to high demand at previous events, the Culinary Arts Program has moved to a ticketed event rather than first-come-first-served. Tickets can be obtained only at the NTCC Hanson-Sewell Center at†237 College Street in Pittsburg.

NTCC ranked 19th in Texas by OnlineColleges.com

Northeast Texas Community College was recently ranked 19th among all Texas colleges and universities by the website OnlineColleges.com. Colleges were ranked on a variety of factors including affordability, student services and availability of online programs.

NTCC has drastically increased the number of online courses offered in recent years in order to better serve the changing needs of students.
