Foundation receives $197,778 from matching grant

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a check for $197,778 in Title V matching funds from the U.S. Department of Education. Thanks to a unique provision of the federal grant, all donations to the Foundation’s endowment are matched 100 percent by Title V funds.

NTCC hosts National Marrow Donor Program event

Did you know that thousands of patients with blood cancers could be cured with a blood stem cell or marrow donation from a genetically matched donor? The NTCC Nursing program wants to help increase the odds of these patients finding a match by hosting a National Marrow Donor Program "Be The Match" event on Wednesday, March 8th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Union Building. Anyone who is between the ages of 18 and 40 who is in good health and willing to donate to anyone in need is encouraged to stop by to participate.

Baseball takes on Howard College

Northeast Texas Community College hosted the Howard College Hawks February 18-19 in a three-game series. Howard College won games one and two, 6-5 and 8-0, but NTCC bounced back in game three to win 8-4.

PTA program earns 10-year reaccreditation

The Northeast Texas Community College Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program recently announced that it has been awarded the maximum 10-year reaccreditation with the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). Continued accreditation means that the program meets or exceeds all requirements and that students who graduate from the program are eligible to sit for the National Physical Therapy Examination and practice as licensed PTAs.

NTCC students judge Region 8 Virtual Science Fair

The Region 8 Virtual Science Fair was held on Monday, February 20th, at Northeast Texas Community College.  A total of 216 student projects were submitted to compete including submissions from twenty-five Region 8 school districts.  Each school district is allowed to enter four students per grade level.  Students have the choice of entering one of three categories.

Dates announced for Kids Discovery College

It's time to mark your calendars for the 2023 Northeast Texas Community College Kids Discovery College! Classes will be held July 10th-20th (Monday-Thursday) on the NTCC campus and at the Culinary Arts school in downtown Pittsburg. As always, we will have a great schedule of fun, educational classes for kids to choose from. Look for the full schedule and registration dates in April.
