Carroll Shelby Foundation gives $25,000 for scholarships

Pleasant Sams club gives scholarship

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $500 scholarship from the Pleasant Sams, the Mount Pleasant Chapter of the Good Sam Club of America. This year?s gift will benefit a student studying nursing at NTCC. Tonya Taylor gives nursing scholarships

Tonya Taylor,†Assistant Professor of Nursing at†Northeast Texas Community College, recently gave $1,200 to the NTCC Foundation to provide two scholarships for nursing students. The gift was given in memory of Margie Bragg, an NTCC Nursing graduate from Mount Pleasant who worked in the field for many years. Taylor noted that she hopes the scholarships will help carry on the caring spirit Bragg gave every day. Taylor is pictured above (left) with Nita May, NTCC Director of Development.

Jackie Baker gives $10,000 scholarship

Jackie Baker of Mount Pleasant recently gave $10,000 †to Northeast Texas Community College in order to create an endowed scholarship for the Eagles baseball program. The donation is in memory of her late husband, Bob Baker, who was a long-time NTCC board member and was very influential in starting the Eagles baseball program. Ms. Baker is pictured (center) with Josh Stewart, NTCC Head Baseball Coach and Athletic Director (left) and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Vice President for Advancement (right).
