NTCC names library for Charlie and Helen Hampton

Northeast Texas Community College recently announced that its library has been renamed the Charlie and Helen Hampton Learning Resource Center (LRC). The NTCC Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve the new building name in their April board meeting. This is the first name change in a recently-launched fundraising/naming campaign by the NTCC Foundation. The naming campaign comes as the campus interior undergoes a major transformation.

Helen Hampton and her late husband, Charlie, of Naples, are longtime friends of NTCC.

International Sulphur gives five transfer scholarships

International Sulphur, Inc. recently made a scholarship donation to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation.†Marci Henderson (left), is pictured presenting a $5,000 check to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Vice President for Advancement. NTCC receives gift to restore John Biggers mural

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $10,000 gift from the East Texas Communities Foundation and the Burt and Nancy Marans Estate. Helen Hampton sponsors Pinkalicious

Helen Hampton (center) sponsored the April 3 performance of the popular children?s musical ?Pinkalicious" at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College. She is pictured with cast members at the VIP Tea Party with Pink held after the show. ?Pinkalicious" marked the end of the Whatley Center?s 2015-2016 season. The lineup for next year?s shows will be announced this summer.

Elizabeth H. Whatley leaves behind lasting legacy at NTCC

Northeast Texas Community College lost a long time friend this week as Mrs. Elizabeth H. Whatley passed away at the age of 89. Services for Mrs. Whatley will be held Saturday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. in Longview at the mausoleum at Rosewood Park.

Team Arise and Raw Iron Gyms recently teamed up to give $1,000 to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation. Mt. Pleasant Fine Arts Club gives scholarship

The Mount Pleasant Fine Arts Club recently gave $500 to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation. The funds will be used to provide a scholarship for an NTCC student majoring in the fine arts. The group has been contributing to scholarships since 1985 when the college first opened.
