Possible Course Accommodations: Students with disabilities who are taking NTCC courses may request accommodations providing that they do not compromise the validity or content of the course. Examples of modifications for courses include:
Possible Course Accommodations
- Extended time for testing and assessments (1.5x) or (2x)
- Provision of alternate print or presentation formats (e.g., books in electronic format, enlarged print, Braille)
- Copies of instructor's notes/presentations
- Reader or Scribe (for testing purposes only)
- Tests administered in a quiet location
- Class seating placement
- Tutoring Assistance (referral of tutor in LRC)
- Closed captioning when using videos in coursework
- To the extent possible, NTCC will maintain a barrier-free website
Other Possible Accommodations
- Additional Testing Time, including scheduled breaks if necessary
- Accessible workstations
- Allow student to record lectures
- Assistance with note taking (copy of fellow student’s notes)
- Oral Testing (Administered in Testing Center, if necessary)
- Computer lab in the Learning Commons (Library) with accessibility software for visually impaired.
