NTCC hosts Engineering Roundtable

On Friday, April 11, the Northeast Texas Community College Department of Physics and Engineering hosted the first Annual Engineering Roundtable and Luncheon in the Student Union Building on campus.† The event was sponsored by the NTCC Foundation to provide opportunities for current engineering majors and prospective engineering students from area high schools to learn more about the field of engineering.

Eagles Baseball team in the hunt for a playoff spot

The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles baseball team has found itself in the middle of a four-team race for one of three remaining playoff spots.††Paris Junior College has secured a playoff spot with a 15-3 record in conference play.†Ironically, all three of their losses have been to Northeast.†The Eagles have 10 conference wins.††Panola, Angelina, and Navarro are all within one game of each other.

The Eagles have eight games remaining on their schedule and all them are very important. The first contest is a doubleheader against Panola on Friday, April 18 at NTCC.

Adult Education hosts College for a Day event

The Northeast Texas Community College Adult Education Department recently held its annual College for a Day event. This special program gives students completing their General Education Development (GED) certificate a chance to learn about various opportunities available to help them continue their educational journey into college. The day consisted of an advising session with NTCC Advisor, Alex Ortega, special recognition for their hard work in obtaining their GED, a campus tour and lunch. Pictured, Ortega speaks to the group about taking the next step to attend college.

Theatre Northeast to present Rumors

Theatre Northeast will present the ?laugh-a-minute? farce†Rumors†by Neil Simon, at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the Northeast Texas Community College campus, April 24, 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m. and April 27 at 2:05 p.m.

One of Neil Simon?s most popular comedies,†Rumors†takes place in the posh suburban residence of New York?s Deputy Mayor, Charley Brock who, at the beginning of the play, is lying off-stage with a bullet hole in his earlobe.
