James Buckley named Outstanding Art Student

The Northeast Texas Community College Art Department recently named James Buckley as the Outstanding Art Student for spring 2021. Buckley resides in Winnsboro and also served as SGA president for the academic year.

“It is an honor to be selected as the outstanding art student. I have achieved more than I ever thought possible. My instructors drove the art students to stretch ourselves and use our right brain to set lofty goals and attain them,” Buckley said.

NTCC celebrates spring 2021 commencement

Northeast Texas Community College celebrated Spring 2021 commencement on Saturday, May 15. Two ceremonies were held at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts honoring a total of 291 students who earned a combined 345 degrees/certificates. Both ceremonies were streamed live on YouTube and Facebook. NTCC to hold commencement ceremonies Saturday

Northeast Texas Community College will hold two spring commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 15. In-person attendance is very limited due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Guests of graduates must have a ticket to enter the Whatley Center.

Crystal Warren named Outstanding Psychology Student

Every semester full-time and associate faculty in NTCC’s Division of Humanities and Social Sciences can select an outstanding student, who is exceptional in some way. This semester, Psychology Professor Nicole Sutton nominated Crystal Warren.

Regarding her nomination, Professor Sutton explained that “She has overcome obstacles and is continuing to rise above her circumstances on the way to earning her degree.  She is an attentive, curious, and hard-working student, and is a joy to be around both in and outside of the classroom.”
