2021 Bonnie Spencer award winners

Expertise has its own rewards. In the case of history essays at Northeast Texas Community College, the reward might be something greater than an ‘A’.  For the eighth straight year, the history professors of NTCC will feature the Bonnie Spencer Awards for the best three research papers in non-honors classes.  The first-place winner will receive $100, the second place, $50, and the third, $25.

The mission of NTCC is "to provide personal, dynamic learning experiences empowering students to succeed." In keeping with this mission, faculty members frequently encourage students to expand their education beyond the classroom. A great example of this was found on March 28th, when student Alyssa Ochoa (pictured center in blue) spent several hours on a lovely spring afternoon collecting data on campus for her psychology research project.
