Student conducts research in Psychology at NTCC

The mission of NTCC is "to provide personal, dynamic learning experiences empowering students to succeed." In keeping with this mission, faculty members frequently encourage students to expand their education beyond the classroom. A great example of this was found on March 28th, when student Alyssa Ochoa (pictured center in blue) spent several hours on a lovely spring afternoon collecting data on campus for her psychology research project. She hypothesized that people who petted a dog would report less stress after the interaction. To this end she and about 100 NTCC students and staff had the opportunity to pet Ghost. Judging by the smiles in these photos, a lot of people were more than happy to help with her project.

Have you seen other examples of NTCC students participating in unique activities inside or outside of the classroom? We would love to hear about them! E-mail your news to jpack@ntcc.edu
