Seven members of Alpha Mu Chi, NTCC’s five-star, award-winning chapter of Phi Theta Kappa attended the Texas Honors Institute (THI) held at Tyler Junior College from July 14th through July 16th. The theme of the conference was “Play it forward, Change the World.”
The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Board of Trustees met for its June meeting on Tuesday, July 11th after the regularly-scheduled June meeting did not achieve a quorum. Titus County Judge, Kent Cooper, was in attendance to swear in Russell East to the board. East was appointed to Place 4 on the board in May after the resignation of Sid Greer.
The Northeast Texas Community College Cosmetology program recently took a trip to Ignite Youth Club in Mount Pleasant to share their expertise with local kids. The students gave a general hygiene lesson, taught basic hairstyling techniques and nail art.

Students in the NTCC Work4College Program participated in a financial literacy simulation fair this Thursday in the Student Union Building. The event, hosted by East Texas Professional Credit Union, is an exciting, interactive exercise to help students learn more about managing their personal finances.
The NTCC Continuing Education Department wrapped up its third pickleball class June 29th. Thirteen students completed the course. "We have seen a huge increase in interest in these classes since we first started offering them this spring. I think people are realizing how much fun the sport is on top of being great exercise,"
