Veterinary Assistant Program coming this summer

The Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education Department is pleased to announce that it will offer a new Veterinary Assistant Program this summer. Classes will be held May 28th through August 27th on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00-9:30 p.m. on the main NTCC campus.

Instruction includes 100+ hours in the classroom, plus an optional 40-hour externship. The total cost is $1,900 and a generous payment plan is available. Some students may be eligible for financial aid.

NTCC, A&M-Texarkana strengthen partnership

Officials from Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) and Texas A&M University- Texarkana recently gathered on the A&M-Texarkana campus to sign an articulation agreement strengthening the partnership between the two institutions and establishing clear pathways for degree completion for transfer students. The new agreement provides a framework for developing degree plans and “pathway maps” that help students identify how classes taken at NTCC are used to complete specific degree plans at the university.

Sigma Kappa Delta to host Open Mic Night

Calling all poets, musicians, comedians, and performers of all kinds! Are you ready to showcase your talent? Whether you're a seasoned performer or trying out the spotlight for the first time, Open Mic Night, sponsored by Sigma Kappa Delta English Honor Society, is the perfect opportunity to share your creativity with a supportive audience. The event will be held on Thursday, April 18th at 6 p.m. in the SUB.

History students take class field trip to Memphis

“Incredible!” “Amazing!” and “A once in a lifetime opportunity” was how students described their spring break field trip to Memphis, Tennessee. The trip included students enrolled in Dr. Melissa Fulgham's African American History class. 

Those who attended were Khadijah Anderson, Khayliee Anderson, Tabatha Baker, Jordyn Baker, Kaden Baker, Sarah Dierflinger, Malaysia Doddy, Melissa Fulgham, Karmisha Jernigan, Lawren McCowan, Melody Mott, Kim Nichols, and Noah Pettey.

A&M-Texarkana to host Eagle Express transfer event March 27th

Texas A&M University - Texarkana will host an Eagle Express event at NTCC on March 27th. Representatives from A&M-Texarkana will be available in the SUB classroom from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help students who are interested in transferring.  This is a great chance to apply and register for classes. Bring your own laptop and information if you'd like help with your FAFSA. Snacks will be provided! Those who apply during the Eagle Express will be entered in a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship.

Biology students conduct parasite research over spring break

Dr. Chris McAllister (NTCC Biology) and two NTCC independent research students, George Burrows and Michael Rodriguez spent spring break doing parasitology research on fishes of northeastern Arkansas. They were fortunate to have colleagues (see group photo) along to help teach different techniques and the students learned a great deal from their tutelage.
