Last weekend in El Paso, NTCC honors-student essayists won their 31st and 32nd Caldwell essay awards in Texas history.  The film effort of NTCC’s Webb Society and Honors Northeast won its fifth $600 Chapter Project Award, for the best creation in Texas history performed by any collegiate or university group. The generous awards are in memory of Texas oilman, Clifton M. Caldwell who in 1974 set up an endowment to reward the best collegiate scholars in Texas history.

Nolan Bushko had three hits, two RBI’s, and two runs scored on the day.

Northeast Texas Community College baseball took to the road on Monday, February 27th to take on Hill College in a non-conference contest. NTCC scored early and often to bring home the 11-6 win over the Rebels. Caleb Reynolds (Frisco, Texas) got things going in the first inning with a one out single and then used his speed to steal second and third bases and eventually score on an error for the early Eagle lead, 1-0.

The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles host Navarro College in a double header on March 5th, and the Bulldogs came away with two wins over the home team by a score of 13-0 and 9-6. Not much would go right for the Eagles in game one of the series. NTCC was limited to just two hits and three walks in the game. The Eagles put the ball in play, but unfortunately the Bulldogs were in the right spot to catch most anything the Eagles hit.
