The Northeast Texas Community College Faculty Senate held the Eagle Excellence Awards ceremony on Tuesday, April 16th in the Whatley Center foyer. Faculty members from a variety of disciplines nominated 48 students to receive this honor. Click here to view/download photos from the event.
Winners were selected by individual NTCC faculty members based on the students’ work in Fall or Spring Semester classes. During those classes, award recipients demonstrated exceptional class performance, strong work ethics, and inspirational behaviors that were noticed and valued by the selecting professor.
“It was an honor for the Faculty to have the opportunity to recognize this outstanding group of students who have worked so hard throughout this academic year. We appreciate the effort of everyone who came together to make the event a success,” said Kevin Frost, Faculty Senate President.
Frost was the emcee for the evening and Dr. Ron Clinton, NTCC President, gave the welcome. Dr. Kevin Rose, NTCC Senior Vice President for Student Success, gave remarks on behalf of the administration. Ivan Domine, a former Industrial Technology student, gave the alumni remarks. Awards were announced by Dr. Anna Ingram, Associate Vice President for Instruction. Food for the event was provided by the NTCC Ag Department and centerpieces were created by students enrolled in the Ag floral design course. Julie Ratliff, Professor of English, announced Emily Collier and Shae Taylor (not present) as the recipients of the 2024 Faculty Senate Scholarship.
