Honors Northeast, the Honors Program at Northeast Texas Community College since 2007, has admitted three new members for the spring semester.

Katy Lynn Osthoff is an early graduate of Pittsburg High School. Last summer as an intern at the Northeast Texas Rural Heritage Center in Pittsburg, she assisted NTCC students with their film project. At Pittsburg High School, she was active in band, the student council, and theatre.

James Robert Dickson (center) was homeschooled in Pittsburg. As a dual enrollment student, he has maintained a perfect GPA at NTCC. An avid pianist, he is the brother of Hannah who as a Presidential Scholar at NTCC won Boe, Caldwell, and Coca Cola awards.

Jansen Mitchell Laney (right) was the 2019 Valedictorian of Daingerfield High School.  He played varsity basketball, was a member of the National Honors Society, and excelled in Math UIL.

The scholars of Honors Northeast have won forty-nine national awards since 2010.  The program is accepting applications for the 2020-21 school year.  The application deadline is 1 March.  Questions about eligibility, the free application, or the honors scholarship that can cover costs at NTCC can be directed to Dr. Andrew Yox at ayox@ntcc.edu.
