Northeast Texas Community College announced some important changes to the fall schedule this week. In order to allow for increased social distancing and to enhance student safety, NTCC is now offering five different course formats for students to choose from. They are as follows:
FACE-TO-FACE (F2F) - Takes place in a traditional classroom setting with precauctions in place for health and safety. Classes will have limited numbers of students allowed in each classroom to maintain social distancing. Regular visits to campus required.
ONLINE (ONLN) - Delivered fully-online through NTCC’s Blackboard Learning Management System. No visits to campus required.
HY-FLEX (HYFL) - Taught face-to-face in a traditional classroom setting with real-time streaming provided. This allows students to have the opportunity to rotate between face-to-face interaction with the faculty and online instruction via streaming video at the assigned class time. Some travel to campus required.
HYBRID (HYBR) - A combination of an on-campus face-to-face component with additional material being delivered online. Some visits to campus required.
SYNCHRONOUS/LIVE REMOTE (SYNC) - Format that connects the instructor and the student in a virtual classroom where the student will receive live instruction and be able to interact directly with the faculty member during the course’s class time. No visits to campus required.
Students who have already registered for classes should check their schedules in the MyEagle portal as soon as possible, as some of your course formats may have changed. Those who have not yet registered should look for the abbreviations designated on the schedule to help choose the courses that work best for you and your schedule.
