Ten hits weren't enough for the Northeast Texas Community College Eagles baseball team as they lost a shootout, 9-8, to Weatherford College on Thursday at NTCC's Bob Baker Stadium.†

Justin Bundy†racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Eagles. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the fifth inning.†

Wesley recorded the win for Weatherford College. He allowed four runs over five innings. He struck out six, walked one and surrendered seven hits.†
Jones, Mahofski, Mayo and Zents helped lead Weatherford College. They combined for eight hits and seven RBIs.†

Brady Batten†took the loss for the Eagles. He lasted just 5 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed five runs. The Weatherford College closer put away the final two outs to record the save. The top of the first saw Weatherford College take an early lead, 2-0. After Sarchet doubled, Weatherford College kept the pressure on the Eagles pitching, as Mahofski homered, plating Sachet.

It didn't take long for the Eagles to respond as they scored two runs of their own in the first. The Eagles scored on an RBI triple by Johnnuelle Ponce†and a groundout by Will Dawson. The Eagles scored two runs more runs in the fourth on a two-run single by Eric Munoz.

Weatherford College went up for good in the fifth, scoring one run on a solo home run by Mayo. Weatherford College added three more runs in the top of the ninth. Mayo kicked things off with a double, scoring Salvaggio. That was followed up by Zents' single, scoring plating two more runs. Four runs in the bottom of the ninth helped the Eagles close their deficit to 9-8. An RBI double by Riley Greenlee, a two-run error, and a sacrifice fly by Ponce sparked the Eagles' rally. However, the comeback was valiant but short by one run.
