First class completes fast track office tech certificate

The first class of students recently completed Northeast Texas Community College?s new fast track office skills certificate program that began this spring. This 21 classroom hour course is designed to help individuals cultivate the skills necessary to seek entry-level work in an office setting. Topics covered include Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, business etiquette and more. The course also serves as a bridge into more advanced certificates or an associate of applied science degree in office technology.†The students completed the six week course and received a certificate of completion and created a portfolio of work to demonstrate skills and value to potential employers. The course class will be offered again in†September at the Community Resource Center in Mount Pleasant. Contact the Continuing Education Department at 903-434-8134 for more information. The program is offered as a collaboration between the NTCC Continuing Education and Adult Education Departments.
