The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles baseball team closed the season by winning seven of their last eight games. The Eagles finished the season with a record of 25-17. The late surge allows them to advance to the regional tourney this weekend as the third seed. The Eagles will face Alvin College at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8 in Sugarland, Texas.
The Eagles closed the season by taking two of three in the last series of the regular season against Paris.††The Eagles jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first game of Saturday's double header and fought off a Paris comeback bid, winning 3-3.
Tanner Buxton looked sharp on the bump. Paris managed just two hits off of Buxton, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out five during his four innings of work.

Carlos Roman's walk-off solo blast boosted the Eagles to a 5-4 win.†David Sanchez got the win in relief pitching 4 1/3 innings and allowed only one run.
The Eagles lost the first game against Paris on Thursday after losing the lead in the eighth inning, giving Paris a 7-6 victory.†Tristan Graham paced the Eagles at the plate. Graham went 2-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first inning and homered in the sixth inning.†Oscar Meuris couldn't get it done on the hill for the Eagles, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed one run.
