Women's Soccer headed to playoffs

The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Women?s Eagles Soccer†team†is headed to the Region 14 Tournament with a record of 8-6. The Lady Eagles? first playoff game will be on Thursday, Oct. 30 at Navarro. The Women split their games last week, picking up a victory against Paris Junior College and dropping their game against Hill college.


Melanie Barnes scored the first goal for the Eagles 20 minutes into their game against Paris last Saturday assisted by Nathalia Lomax. 22 minutes later McKenzia GoeDicke put another point up for the Eagles assisted by Michelle Butron. Bianca Galindo†never let any balls into†the Eagle?s goal against Paris and the Eagles won the game 2-0.


The Lady Eagles had a hard time finding the net against Hill but they put the Hill Goalkeeper to the test with nine shots on goal in†last Tuesday?s game. Hill College put the first point on the board 80 minutes into the game and Lomax answered six minutes later with a goal assisted by Butron, tying the score. The game†looked like it washeaded into overtime when Hill College scored a last-minute goal, defeating the Eagles 2-1.
