Theatre Northeast is set to present the ?Hilarious Fractured Fairy Tale,"†Once Upon A Wolf†by Steph DeFerie at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College. The show will be performed Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. and there will be a 2:05 p.m. matinee on Dec. 7. This marks the 24th year that Theatre Northeast has presented an annual Christmas season children?s play. Over the course of those years, NTCC and Communities-In-Schools have partnered to bring more than 100,000 area school children to the performances.
Once Upon A Wolf†begins when Old Granny Stinkyfeet tries to tell the tale of Little Red Riding Hood. The only problem is that the Wolf in the story has decided that she is tired of being the villain, and not only that, she has become a vegetarian! Granny tries to put the Wolf in various other stories, such as†The Three Little Pigs†and the Big Bad Wolf,†Goldilocks†and the†Three Bears,†Cinderella, Androcles†and†the Lion, and†Jack and the Beanstalk, all with disastrous results. By the end of the play, the Wolf has learned to be happy being a wolf and Granny has learned that anyone can be a good guy?even a BBW (Big Bad Wolf!) The show is full of fun characters, big laughs, and a lot of heart.
Once Upon A Wolf†features Ariah Burkhalter, Lauren Shortnacy, Kelsey Reichman and Kaitlyn Currey of Mt. Pleasant; Elizabeth Griffin, Justin Mejia, Caleb Preston and Tshaw Beyonce of Pittsburg; Marcy Logan and Kathryn Comer of Omaha; Haley Guest of Daingerfield; Trace A.
