The Broadway Tenors to perform at Whatley Center

Fans of Broadway musicals won't want to miss the chance to see The Broadway Tenors live at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College.†Musical theater?s best leading men will transport you from the Golden Age and back in a thrilling and moving evening of Broadway?s most beloved hits.†The show is Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for students.†


The audience will hear favorites from†South Pacific, West Side Story, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Jersey Boys, and more. Brent Barrett, John Cudia, and Kyle Dean Massey have been tapped for the NTCC performance.†


"I†feel extremely lucky to be able to host Broadway performers of this caliber at the Whatley Center. These guys†perform†in some of the top shows in the country separately and are joining up to provide us with a phenomenal showcase of talent," Carolyn Franks, Director of the Whatley Center, said.†



Barrett is no stranger to the stages of Broadway, the West End, concert halls, recording studios and television. He is currently dazzling audiences on Broadway reprising his role as ?Billy Flynn? in the Tony Award-winning hit, Chicago ? The Musical for which he received a Los Angeles drama Critics Award. Brent received an Olivier Award nomination for his starring role in the London premiere of the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of Kiss Me, Kate. His acclaimed performance was recorded for broadcast on PBS and is available on DVD. Brent made his debut as the Phantom in the new Andrew Lloyd Webber?s Phantom-the Vegas Spectacular at the new $40M theatre at the Venetian on the Las Vegas Strip.
Cudia holds the distinct honor of being the first and only actor to have performed both as the The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera and Jean Valjean in Les MisÈrables on Broadway. John?s most recent Broadway run counted him as only the 12th performer to play the Phantom in its historic, record-breaking, 25 years. John recently played Jean Valjean at the Marriott Theater in Chicago where his performance not only earned him critical acclaim but also the Joseph Jefferson Award for ?best actor in a musical.? John proudly made his Broadway debut in Les MisÈrables and enjoyed a long and successful relationship with both Les Miz and Phantom.



Massey has had the opportunity to perform throughout the U.S. as Fiyero in Wicked and as Billy Lawlor in 42nd Street, which he also performed in Japan. He most recently performed as Tony in West Side Story at the MUNY Opera in St. Louis. He has also participated in many readings and workshops including as Elder Michaels in the Book of Mormon and Spot Conlon in Newsies, among others.
