The Northeast Texas Community College Culinary Arts Program will host three special Buffet Nights during the month of November. These will be held †at the NTCC Culinary Institute in historic downtown Pittsburg and are open to the public.
Dinners will be held†from 6-8 p.m.†on November 8, 15 and 29. Seating is restaurant-style and to-go orders will be available as quantities allow. The cost is $10 per person. Reservations will not be accepted.
"In the past our buffets have been tremendously successful and we are excited about our upcoming meals. This is a great opportunity for our students to get experience in real-world conditions and it allows us to showcase our program to the community," Culinary Instructor, Chef Sara Hicks, said.
The buffet is prepared and served by students enrolled in the culinary arts catering course. The November 8 theme will be Caribbean Nights and will feature: Caramelized Pineapple Pumpkin Soup, Charred Chicken with Fruit and Green Been Chutney, and Light and Fluffy Coconut Cake.
The November 15 theme will be Falling into Autumn and will feature: Best Harvest Broccoli and Cheese Soup, Sweet Potato Shepard's Pie, and Lemon Tarts. November 29 will have an Autumn Harvest theme: Butternut Squash Soup with Caramelized Apples, Succulent Pulled Pork and Apple Tacos, and Brandied Apple Bread Pudding.
