Job Summary:
The NTCC PD is a newly formed organization. The ideal candidate will be schedule flexible. NTCC PD general duty campus police work involves the protection of life and property; the enforcement of laws and ordinances; prevention and investigation of crimes and maintenance of order, and positive engagement with community members. Work is performed independently and as part of a team. Tasks are completed with general guidelines and require independent judgment. Contribute to the Department and Colleges vision, mission, and goals in the performance of all job duties.

Essential Functions
Contribute to an environment of respect and teamwork.
Respond to emergency and routine dispatched calls as directed.
Patrol the main campus and satellite properties by police vehicle, or on foot, providing an element of safety by obvious visibility; look for crimes or potential crimes in progress.
Administers emergency first aid to injured or incapacitated persons as required.
Use de-escalation techniques to increase likelihood of compliance.
Utilize and maintain a variety of specialized; maintain skill and proficiency in driving, the use of firearms, and other issued weapons.
Maintain a high standard of physical fitness.
Direct traffic when required.
Appear in court to present evidence and to testify against persons accused of crimes.
Write police and other related reports.
Participate in community engagement activities.
Participate in training programs as required.
Maintain regular, dependable, and punctual attendance.
Perform all related work as required.
Education, Experience, and License Requirements:
U.S. resident
High school diploma or equivalent
Applicant must have experience as a commissioned law enforcement officer.
Applicant must possess a Texas Peace Officer Certification; an Intermediate Peace Officer Certification or higher is preferred.
Ability to read and write the English Language.
Pass a stringent background investigation.
Valid Texas driver’s license

Drive and perform field work.

Climb and work from ladders, climb stairs, ability to navigate a variety of different terrains.
Run, jog, or walk for extended periods of time.
Bending, stretching, sitting, and standing for extended periods.
Work Environment:
Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions and may involve moving throughout the facility and community. Work may also include a typical office environment.
Work assigned shift knowing that shifts vary and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Noise level out in the field is moderately loud and noise level in the office is moderately quiet.
