Description of Job Duties:
- Provide academic leadership for all agriculture-related programs, including curriculum
development, assessment, and continuous improvement. - Manage program budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with college
priorities. - Supervise and support agriculture faculty and staff, promoting a culture of
accountability, teamwork, and excellence. - Coordinate scheduling, resource allocation, and facility use, including classroom/lab
spaces, greenhouses, land labs, and instructional equipment. - Oversee recruitment, advising, and retention strategies for agriculture students.
- Build and maintain partnerships with local, regional, and state agriculture industry
stakeholders, schools, and organizations. - Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to support grant writing,
fundraising, and program promotion. - Ensure compliance with accreditation, licensure, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote and model effective communication with students, staff, administration, and
the community. - Organize events, such as judging contests, career fairs, and educational workshops, to
enhance visibility and engagement. - Represent the college and program at conferences, meetings, and professional activities.
- Maintain a teaching load that is appropriate and follows NTCC policy relative to the
program director position, or as approved by the Dean of Workforce Education. - Actively participate in discipline, division and college-wide task forces and committees.
- Participate in official graduation ceremonies.

- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple
priorities effectively. - Demonstrated experience in budget development, monitoring, and resource planning.
- Deep knowledge of agricultural practices, emerging trends, and career pathways.
- Understanding of the structure and demands of higher education and technical education
programs. - Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Commitment to student success and a passion for agricultural education.
Experience and Other Qualifications:
- Required:
- Master’s degree in Agriculture or master’s degree plus 18 graduate hours in Agriculture.
- A deep knowledge of agricultural practices, emerging trends, and career pathways..
- Experience with program management, budgeting, and supervision.
- Proficiency in using technology for administrative and instructional purposes
- Preferred:
- Teaching experience in higher education or technical education.
- Experience working with grant-funded programs and external partnerships.
- Familiarity with Texas agriculture industry needs and workforce trends.
- Familiarity with the Texas higher education system.
