Corporate and Community Education Advisor

Status: Full Time
Minimum Salary: $42,000

Experience and other Qualifications Required: 

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum 2 years related experience working with students, business and industry and/or community organizations preferred. 
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are required. 
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills are required.
  • The ability to maintain and foster strong relationships with state agencies and local business and industry is required.
  • Working knowledge of a student information system and/or knowledge of microcomputer/software applications is a must (Microsoft Office). 
  • Be open to infrequent evening hour events and occasional weekend assignments.

 

Description of Job Duties:

Recruits and advises continuing education and corporate training students pursing non-credit, short-term career programs and/or industry recognized certifications. Assist industry partners, employees and community members in professional and personal development opportunities. Work with college faculty and staff and other external entities to remain current with community workforce needs, and other niche program opportunities. 

  • Provides advice and support to students, and local businesses
  • Occasionally visit high schools to present and distribute information concerning Continuing Education programs and opportunities when called
  • Perform enrollment duties (Registration, adds, drops and withdrawals)
  • Responds to inquiries from prospective students and business partners
  • Has knowledge of College policies and procedures 
  • Interacts with other College offices regarding admissions, registration, business office procedures and advising
  • Meets with prospective students and trainees 
  • Develops contacts with internal and external constituents to help advance projects and tasks
  • Familiarize themselves with local high demand occupation information
  • Help implement programs to target specific industry needs
  • Uses Jenzabar EX for student registration, degree audit, course prerequisites, etc. 
  • Maintains records of student and other external contacts
  • Performs other duties as assigned
