NTCC receives gift to restore John Biggers mural

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $10,000 gift from the East Texas Communities Foundation and the Burt and Nancy Marans Estate. Dr. Brad Johnson, NTCC President (right) and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Vice President for Advancement, are pictured receiving the donation. †The funds will be used to begin the restoration process for the Dr. John Biggers mural that will be relocated from Pewitt Elementary School to the NTCC Charlie and Helen Hampton Learning Resource Center.

Dr. Tawny Nix gives scholarships

Dr. Tawny Nix, Director of the Northeast Texas Community College Medical Assistant program, recently contributed $2,000 to the NTCC Foundation. The funds will provide scholarships to students majoring in Medical Assistant, Medical Coding or Health Informatics. Helen Hampton sponsors Pinkalicious

Helen Hampton (center) sponsored the April 3 performance of the popular children?s musical ?Pinkalicious" at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College. She is pictured with cast members at the VIP Tea Party with Pink held after the show. ?Pinkalicious" marked the end of the Whatley Center?s 2015-2016 season. The lineup for next year?s shows will be announced this summer.

Elizabeth H. Whatley leaves behind lasting legacy at NTCC

Northeast Texas Community College lost a long time friend this week as Mrs. Elizabeth H. Whatley passed away at the age of 89. Services for Mrs. Whatley will be held Saturday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. in Longview at the mausoleum at Rosewood Park.

?Mrs. Whatley and her husband James loved NTCC. I am so glad that she got to experience the impact she had on our college first hand before she passed away. The Whatleys truly left a legacy that will live on for many†generations to come,? Dr.

Team Arise, Raw Iron Gyms give $1,000 for NTCC Scholarship

Team Arise and Raw Iron Gyms recently teamed up to give $1,000 to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation. Northeast Texas Biker's Church gives to Arellano scholarship fund

Mt. Pleasant Fine Arts Club gives scholarship

The Mount Pleasant Fine Arts Club recently gave $500 to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation. The funds will be used to provide a scholarship for an NTCC student majoring in the fine arts. The group has been contributing to scholarships since 1985 when the college first opened. Helen Hampton recently gave $3,000 to sponsor the upcoming production of the children?s musical Pinkalicious at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College.
